GLOUCESTERSHIRE HOSTS INTERNATIONAL PRINTMAKING FESTIVAL
The Stroud-based Gloucestershire Printmaking Co-operative (GPC) opens its third biennial festival in March, promising a month-long, countywide celebration of contemporary printers and printing that is truly international in scope.
Impress 2013 will bring together some of the top names in the contemporary printmaking world, including exhibitions by the internationally acclaimed British-Irish artist Hughie O’Donoghue as well as a rare opportunity to view the work of Ecuador’s Antonio Romoleroux and Chinese master printer He Kun.
Abstract artist Romoleroux has achieved heritage status in his home country;
Artist and printmaker Antonio Romoleroux focuses on the human imprint on ecosystems, and has achieved heritage status in Ecuador. His work can be found in museums and private collections in Canada, France, USA, Italy, Switzerland and Chile.
