“Spiritual Amazon”

This series made in sculpture, engraving and mostly with the original technique of my authorship: oil on intaglio, is based on Amazonian semiotics. The Amazon is the largest tropical forest in the world with the greatest biodiversity on the planet and the indigenous peoples that inhabit this ecosystem do so in a sustainable way, for this reason, the conservation of the semiotics of the various nationalities that inhabit it is important for the benefit of the world’s population today and in the future. The signs used in the works come from the stylized facial pictography that some native Amazonian peoples still use. They mean: jaguar, anaconda, energy, harpy eagle, butterfly, snake, monkey, frog (god of fertility, because he dominates life in the land and in the water; in Western biology the frog is a bioindicator, this similarity between the ancient Amazonian wisdom and Western science is important) its semiology is important to help prevent the extinction of thousands of human beings, and also of the fauna and flora endemic to this ecosystem, World Heritage of Humanity.
